Talkeetna to Anchorage

Alaska, Road Trip, States

We awakened to a rainy morning. Since we hadn’t gone into Talkeetna Wednesday evening we felt it imperative that we go in for breakfast. So we grabbed umbrellas and set out. The shuttle took us only so far then we traveled afoot on in to the little town. We joined other Moosecruisers at a very crowded The Roadhouse for breakfast. Chatted with other guests about their travels. Enjoyed the ride into Anchorage in Tim’s Luxury Motorcoach. Lunched on Reindeer Dogs at Michael’s Dog Stand in Anchorage. Must follow Michael’s rules to the “T” in order to be served! Enjoyed an afternoon and evening exploring Anchorage, Alaska’s biggest city, including a memorable visit to the Alaska Experience Theater to learn about the 1964 Good Friday Earthquake that measured 9.2 on the Richter Scale and was the second most powerful quake every recorded.

We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.

In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
