It’s starting to come together. The carpet was installed today over the 1950’s linoleum that the Kiernans installed when they first finished out the attic. The blue industrial strength carpeting and the blue walls and ceilings of the Hatker era are now all gone. The ceilings are white and the walls beige. All the door casings and baseboards are of a 1920’s style and the new carpet is a soft beige. Everything’s neutral. Tomorrow new air-conditioning vents will be installed upstairs.
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
