Evening in Albuquerque

Family, New Mexico, States

We started the day with an uphill four mile walk to the El Dorado Agora and rewarded ourselves with a cup of excellent tea at Las Chivas Coffeeshop. Lou met us there and we sat and talked for a while before heading back to the house and doing a very quick job of packing. In the afternoon we visited the Indian Jewelry Supply in Albuquerque. Lou and Jana were at least as excited about the jewelry possibilities as Steve. We left with the materials for several projects! After a wonderful gathering over dinner, Lou & Bill dropped the two of us off at the Holiday Inn Express so we could be close to the airport for an early morning departure!

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
