Retirement Day finally arrived. All Children’s threw a big party on the rooftop of the new parking garage! Well, actually it was to celebrate the placement of the last beam on the new hospital but it was on my retirement day! Just before six Steve and CJ showed up at the satellite door with fourteen pink roses and chocolates. I said my final goodbyes, looked around at the place where I had spent so many hours in the last fourteen years and headed out to celebrate with a wonderful dinner at Cafe Alma!
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
