For most of the thirty-five years that we have lived with our beautiful Old Tavern Pine bedroom set, there has been a bumper sticker on the mirror. That sticker now has new meaning. We’d both rather be in North Carolina than keep our treasured furniture since it won’t fit in our house in the mountains. We’ve found a furniture consigner who in interested in helping us find a buyer. Perhaps it will become some other family’s heirlooms.
Imperial War Museum
London’s Imperial War Museum in Southwark founded even as the First World War raged offers insights into the myriad costs of the wars of the 20th and 21st Centuries. It was a most disquieting but valuable reminder of the myriad costs of war.
