We spent today in search of new adventures in Grand Teton National Park. At the suggestion of a park ranger we hiked near String Lake where the mountains seem to come up out of the water. We explored a little in the Laurence S. Rockefeller Preserve to learn more about the area and more about the family that was so instrumental in bringing about this and other national parks that we love. We left via Moose Wilson Road and drove through the Teton Pass and headed for Arco, Idaho where we camped at the KOA in view of their treasured “Numbers Mountain” where high school seniors have painted their graduation years since 1920. Had a fun little “party” with the campground host and another guest.
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
