Spent the day walking boardwalks through all sorts of geothermal phenomena. Nothing like walking around on top of one of the world’s most enormous volcanoes! Also saw lots of wildlife…elk, bison, an eagle, and more. Made the mistake of arriving at Canyon Village hungry for lunch at the same time as several tour buses. We bought a few groceries and picnicked in the car. It was a overcast and cold day. We did see a tiny bit of snow but then a few minutes later we saw a couple of minutes of sunshine! We cut our touring a little short and came back to our room for a nap and a good dinner accompanied by Moose Drool brown ale.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
