Today we explored the waterfalls of Columbia Gorge. We drove the Historic Highway and stopped at every waterfall taking little hikes and lots of pictures. Except at Talkeena Falls where we hiked to the top of the ridge! At Multnomah we had a delicious lunch at the historic lodge with a fabulous view of the falls! Eventually we got on I-84 and headed east. Got to Baker City, Oregon.

Karen & Steve – glad to hear and see that you are having a great time on your journey! The Gorge has got to be one of my favorite places I’ve ever visited and the historic highway is so crazy cool, what with it’s like 20 something waterfalls all along the way (First time I ever rode down it was on a motorcycle, lots of good memories – know you guys will have some great ones too). Miss you guys:-)

PS. Little delayed on the news, but my sis had her 2nd baby boy on Sept 22 – Kenneth David Hulse, so adorable:)

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
