We enjoyed a slow start this morning. After a breakfast of blueberry waffles, we began Cruisin’ 101 in the rain. Around noon we pulled into Port Townsend and wandered and munched our way through town, smoked salmon salad and hot tea, dark chocolate truffles, the City Hall Museum, a foot long hotdog to share, window shopping, and hermits (lovely spicy cookies). We continued along 101 until near Port Angeles where we found a KOA kabin to shelter us for the night then went into town for a halibut dinner and a walk along the beach trail

When I worked for Rayonier our technical department was in Port Angeles WA.  While in Washington State I would see the road signs for Port Angeles think about the people I had worked with and befriended and wonder what it looked like.  It looks like a pleasant area.  It is good to see you are taking your time.

Over a long weekend we sampled some of the myriad things to do in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, unique among national parks for it’s environmental reclamation, historic preservation, and recreational opportunities adjacent to the populous cities of Cleveland and Akron in northeastern Ohio. Can’t wait to return and explore more.

Slow Journey Home

Slow Journey Home

Our journey from Portsmouth, England to our home in Ohio might have been accomplished in about sixteen hours but my avoiding air travel we were able to enjoy a fifteen day journey home via train, ship, Uber, train, as well as our own feet and finally our personal vehicle.

It’s been a fascinating two day visit to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. We managed to pack in tours of the HMS Warrior, the HMS Victory as well ast Victory Live: The
Big Repair, and finally the Mary Rose. All were incredibly informative and well presented.
