We awakened this morning to the scene of snow on the ground and more coming down. Drove to Mass in the snow but with clear streets. Had a delicious pancake breakfast at The Original Pancake House. By early afternoon the temperature was rising and the snow was melting. Then around two o’clock we had another snow shower but it didn’t stick. Continued to enjoy the hospitality of Uncle Jack and Aunt Flo and some more cousin visits.

I wonder what’s next on your itinerary? Please let me know when you get closer to Arkansas, and I’ll suggest a couple of spots to visit. I would definitely recommend Eureka Springs and Hot Springs, AR. Hang in there with the snow!

Looks like winter has come to the Pacific NW before it reached the Midwest. We got our first touch of frost last night. Enjoy the snowscapes and drive carefully. ; )

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
