Started the day with a sunrise visit to Arches National Park and loved it even with the gray skies. Love that park! Went to Mass in Moab then had breakfast at the Jailhouse Cafe. Great food. By afternoon thunderstorms had rolled in but we ventured out anyway. Visited Dead Horse Point State Park for some awesome views of the canyon then went on to Canyonlands National Park. Saw a complete rainbow arch! We hiked to Mesa Arch then we watched the sunset from the Green River Overlook. Although the canyon is not as deep, in many ways we like Canyonlands even better than Grand Canyon.

Is that a double rainbow in your picture?!? That is so amazing! Actually all of your pictures are just as wonderful – and each one reminds me of how much I miss you guys. I got to hang out with CJ at Ryan and April’s wedding this past Sunday, though! Can’t wait to see what you guys post next!

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
