La Cucharacha on the Heights

Family

Once again we walked. Five of us this time. First we
headed to the Cameo museum and shop. Roatan, Honduras is home to some of the few cameo artists in the world. Then we walked back to the dock area, engaged a taxi and went for a private tour around the island and up to the top of Pumpkin Hill, Roatan’s “mountain” where our driver and a local crafts vendor did a rendition of La Cucharacha for us with a little help from CJ and Ed while the rest of us laughed.
We finished off a wonderful day with a
delightful, impromptu, dance under the
stars.

In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
