It was Rachel’s first visit to Great Smoky Mountain National Park and Greg’s second trip since 1984. There had been so much snow on the park road that it had been closed until about an hour before we arrived. We didn’t venture too far into the park but we did walk back to see Mingus Mill. Afterwards we gloried in some home made blueberry pie. It’s been a glorious visit. We don’t want them to go back to snowy ol’ Boston.
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
