Heintooga Roundbottom Road View

Heading to one of the less traveled areas of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, we ventured to higher altitudes today to drive the Heintooga Bottoms Road with Patti and Rebecca in our Chevy Impala. It’s been our favorite auto trail for decades. It’s a one lane, one way, gravel road that travels fourteen miles from the Heintooga Picnic area and wends it’s way into Cherokee, North Carolina.  It affords the kinds of views you would get along the Appalachian Trail but from the comfort of your vehicle with opportunities to stop the engine, climb out of the car, and enjoy the sounds and sights of the forest. And it’s always fun to stop at the bridge and sometimes to dip your toes into the chilly water of the mountain stream.

Wicked The Musical

Wicked The Musical

Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
