We lunched at Michie Tavern where the modern restaurant still serves the kind of food that you might have eaten at the tavern if you were traveling two hundred years ago. Afterwards we toured the tavern and learned more about living and traveling in the early days of our nation. Even got to dance a Virginia Reel and play an old tavern game.

Log Kitchen. All food was prepared here and then taken to the tavern. This prevented the spread of fire as well as removed unpleasant odor and smoke from the main house.
