Farewells

Family

On the last morning of our fabulous visit (& the first sunny day), Greg and Rachel gave us farewell hugs as we climbed into our car parked down the street from their home. Since the day was so pretty, they continued on down the road to do a little shopping to improve the comfort of their kitties. We headed for the Mass Pike to compete with other post-holiday homegoers. However when the pike turned into a parking lot, we got off onto some back roads, enjoyed the scenery and made progress toward home. We found out that Harrisburg PA is approximately the halfway point between Cambridge and Tween Creeks and a good stopping point for the night. That’s a good thing to know if ever we again choose to drive that trip instead of fly.

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
