Had originally thought to post today about Apple’s media event yesterday and some of the awesome capabilities of the newest iPhone, etc. Was wowed about the partnership with WolframAlpha. But that has now been eclipsed by the news that the world has lost Steve Jobs. As Apple computer users through the decades we have appreciated the effects of his vision for what personal computers can be. But beyond that, we have admired his class and his enthusiasm for life. We definitely feel as if we have lost a personal friend today.
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
Rachel played his commencement speech at Stanford last night, which I thought memorable and appropriate.
We couldn’t help but think about that speech which we had listened to recently. We keep coming back to the messages therein and pondering them. It does feel like we’ve lost a friend. But our lives are better for having known him.
