Hiking in the Nantahala Forest

Family

We began our Thanksgiving Day with a hike in the woods. We can accessthe Nantahala National Forest by hiking up the road behind us. It was a chilly morning, below freezing when we started out but we bundled up and headed out. Later in the day we roasted a chicken that we had named “Turkey” and made a nice dinner for just the two of us. This was our very first Thanksgiving with just the two of us and we really enjoyed it. We had the pleasure of talking with all of offspring and hearing of the delightful Thanksgiving repasts that they all had. And we counted our blessings. We have so many!
