We broke camp on Pine Island and headed for Ft Myers. We stopped at a McDonald’s long enough to use their Wi-Fi to replenish our eBook library then went to Mass at Blessed Pope John XXIII Church. Wow! It may be the biggest church we’ve been in. After that we stopped briefly at a RV Show and found ourselves telling people about the teardrop and T@B campers. Honest, we don’t work for Little Guy International, we just like their campers!  Then we headed south on I-75 and west through the ‘glades on Alligator Alley into Everglades National Park. We set up camp at Long Pine Key Campground and then did the ranger led night walk on the Ahinga Trail. At one point we saw at least twenty alligator eyes in the beam of our flashlight. One ‘gator who was at least nine feet long and according to the ranger at least twenty years old swam right up to us and then under us on the boardwalk. Incredible experience!

Imperial War Museum

Imperial War Museum

London’s Imperial War Museum in Southwark founded even as the First World War raged offers insights into the myriad costs of the wars of the 20th and 21st Centuries. It was a most disquieting but valuable reminder of the myriad costs of war.

London’s Canals

London’s Canals

The two of us have long been fascinated with the history of canals and their role in the history of transportation, industrialization, and more recently recreation. This stay in London has given us new opportunities to explore and learn more about how canals contributed to the growth of this great city and how they are being used and preserved today.

National Portrait Gallery

National Portrait Gallery

It was a most educational visit to the newly renovated National Portrait Gallery at Trafalgar Square in Central London. We were intrigued with the contemporary approach to presenting British History.
