Grand Turk

Family

Things started a little slowly this morning. We didn’t have anything scheduled until early afternoon so we lingered over breakfast. Then we gathered in the Crooners Lounge on Deck Seven above the Piazza. There were about a dozen of us who debarked together but then there were only five of us who ended up taking a taxi together into downtown. Arleene, Ed2, Loren, and we poked around a bit. We two got a few paintings and some soda can art. Then we started wandering back in the direction of the ship. Ultimately we decided to contribute to the local economy again and hired a taxi back the rest of the way. Stopped for a rum drink, purchase of some sea glass, and a quick dip in the surf before getting back on board for another fabulous dinner and dancing in The Adagio to the strains of The Ruby Orchestra, the best live music for swing dancing yet this week!

Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Over a long weekend we sampled some of the myriad things to do in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, unique among national parks for it’s environmental reclamation, historic preservation, and recreational opportunities adjacent to the populous cities of Cleveland and Akron in northeastern Ohio. Can’t wait to return and explore more.

Slow Journey Home

Slow Journey Home

Our journey from Portsmouth, England to our home in Ohio might have been accomplished in about sixteen hours but my avoiding air travel we were able to enjoy a fifteen day journey home via train, ship, Uber, train, as well as our own feet and finally our personal vehicle.

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard

It’s been a fascinating two day visit to Portsmouth Historic Dockyard. We managed to pack in tours of the HMS Warrior, the HMS Victory as well ast Victory Live: The
Big Repair, and finally the Mary Rose. All were incredibly informative and well presented.
