We wandered downtown with Susan. Headed to the Saturday Morning Market. The location has changed since last we were there. It’s now in the parking lot of the Al Lang Stadium. It’s lots bigger and much more crowded that we remember. We did run into one person that we knew – Sandy V, a dance friend from our earliest days of swing dancing. Had some Mot-Za-Pies because we remember them fondly from the days when Market was on Central Avenue. On the way back to the car we paused to take pictures at The Fountain of Youth. We both remember drinking it’s water as kids. (It was a sulfur water artesian well back then.) Could that be why we are still kicking up our heels these days? We finished the day with the Saturday dance at the Largo Community Center, a circle jam for the cruise participants and with Ed and Steve practicing the umbrella drink hold.
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
