It started raining in the wee small hours and continued all day and into the night. We didn’t have anything actually planned, no one expecting us. We’d had ideas of places to explore but decided instead to hang out the armchairs in our commodious tent and read. We had ebooks by Agatha Christie and Alexander Kent to keep us busy and engaged all day! It was actually a nice way to spend Valentine’s Day together and a break from the pace we’ve been keeping recently.
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
