Is there ever a good time for a washing machine to fail and need replacement? This certainly wasn’t. Our four year old Frigidaire stacking washer failed this past weekend. We’ve learned a lot in the last four days. Front loading washers are very difficult and very expensive to repair. That is assuming you can even find a technician able to work on them. Stacking units rely on a stacking adapter that is not only brand specific but pretty much year specific also so if one of the appliances fails you have to replace both. And we were reminded that it is at the independent appliance stores that you can find the better quality appliances and great customer service. Kudos to the folks at Macon Appliance Mart for getting us into a new set of LG laundry equipment in record time.
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
