Escape from Oak Manor

Family

IMG_5410It’s been 46 days since Gary transferred to the hospital to Oak Manor (but who’s counting?). It’s been a good place to get his feet firmly under him and to learn new skills that he will need going forward, but it’s time to get out of there. Once he had all his stuff packed up and got his discharge instructions and signed his papers, we met him there and we all trundled out to the car. We did go home but not for long. Just dropped off some things and picked up his checkbook and headed back out again. First stop was lunch at Europa where we teasingly ordered champagne to celebrate Gary’s new freedom. Then we went on to run a couple of errands and check out some furniture stores. It appears that Gary has some good ideas of what furniture he wants for his living room!
