We took the day off. Went to breakfast at Beverly’s on Corey Avenue. There we met friends Pete, Deb, and Anne. And they presented us with a gift from our friend Al. It’s a hand built ceramic butterfly. It’s perfect with our home decor. Can’t wait to have the chance to hang it up there. From breakfast we headed to Pass-A-Grille. We parked and walked the beach north to the DonCeSar. With the blazing sun and tropical temperatures we were ready for a cold drink and something to munch on. Ted Peter’s would have fit the bill but they were not yet open for the day. Â We did get a delicious whiff of the great smoked fish smell as we drove through the parking lot. Dunkin’ Donuts served the need for an iced tea and a snack. Oh! We love their Boston Creme donuts! We drove though our old neighborhood and were amazed at the memories that flooded over us. Later in the day we explored the Fresh Market in St Petersburg. It’s appeared on the site of the old Coconut Grove Motel since we moved away from this town. There we got the makings for a pizza and beer dinner with Graeter’s Ice Cream for dessert. It was a relaxing day.
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
