Time Warp in Downtown

Road Trip

IMG_5343Mother was discharged to home today and Ed was there to help her and Dad transition to home. So we organized a dinner gathering in downtown St Petersburg at The Tap Room Grille at The Hollander Hotel. When we were growing up in St Petersburg this location was The Bond Hotel. In the last few years it has been lovingly restored to it’s 1920’s grandeur.  CJ and Phil, Mike and Cathy, and Vivian joined us. They’ve got great food and great beers. While we were enjoying the above Dwight and Scott walked past and stopped to chat. Mike and I have known them since they were knee high to grasshopper. After dinner we walked down to the gelato emporium on Beach Drive and enjoyed a delightful dessert and the company of great people. As we started heading back to Fourth we spotted some horse drawn carriages as well as a Packard reproduction. As we strolled we kept remembering adventures through the years, like the tea parties we enjoyed at Bay Gables, the Halloween wedding at Mansion by the Bay, the anniversary weekend at Inn by the Bay, explorations at P Buckley Moss and on and on. We capped the evening off with a great evening at the Saturday dance in Largo.

We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.

Wicked The Musical

Wicked The Musical

Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
