Today’s our Fortieth Anniversary! And we are enjoying a fabulous celebration. We woke up in Adirondack Park in a room with a view of beautiful Lake Piseco. First order of business was to travel into Speculator for our annual Steak & Eggs breakfast at the Sunrise Diner. Then north toward Blue Mountain Lake with a stop at the Lewey Lake Campground. We’re inspired to plan another trip with kayaks. On to the Adirondack Museum. It’s billed as Adirondack BIG. And it is too big for just one visit. We must return. On the way back to Point Comfort we got ice cream in Lake Pleasant. Back at the campground we lingered through sunset until after dark enjoying the play of light on the water. To commemorate this day we treated ourselves to a painting that looks like this lakeshore!
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
