We were in no big hurry to get going this morning. We took our time making bacon, eggs, and hash browns. Did have to pause to give a tour of the T@B. We were out of there by eleven. Headed south into town then east on I-20. It was a beautiful drive through Finger Lake Country. After about an hour’s drive we arrived at Cayuga Lake State Park and set up on Site 23. A midday set-up in August can mean getting hot, sticky, and grumpy so we followed it with sandwiches of leftover steack for lunch then a nap. After nap we went into the town of Seneca Falls. We stopped at a farm stand on the way for sweet corn, fresh sugar plums, and cherry pie. At the Women’s Rights National Park we first took the tour of the Wesleyan Methodist Church where the Declaration of Sentiments was drawn up in 1848 at the Seneca Falls Women’s Rights Conference. Then back to the Visitors Center for the movie. Will wait until tomorrow to visit the Stanton house. On the way back to the campground by the lake shore road and stopped at Jimmy’s Deerhead Restaurant. While we enjoyed views of the lake we savored prime rib, guinness, and peanut butter/chocolate pie. We did split the meal and the dessert but we each had our own beer. Some things you don’t want to share.

National Portrait Gallery

National Portrait Gallery

It was a most educational visit to the newly renovated National Portrait Gallery at Trafalgar Square in Central London. We were intrigued with the contemporary approach to presenting British History.

Bletchley Park

Bletchley Park

It was at Bletchley Park that the Allied Codebreakers deciphered German military messages during the Second World War. A free guided tour gave us a good overview of the campus and the activities that occurred here from 1938 to 1945.

Fenton House and Spaniards Inn

Fenton House and Spaniards Inn

A lovely way to spend a Sunday in Hampstead. We visited the historic Fenton House to view lots of lovely collectibles, to listen to and learn about harpsicords, and to tour and linger in the garden before heading off to the historic Spaniard’s Inn for a most delectable Sunday Roast.
