No new home truly looks settled until the art is on the walls. Dave has a nice collection of art work from his travels One that particularly speaks of his interests is the gold rubbing of a knight taken from tomb of a Crusader. When we hung that one on the wall today this place suddenly looked like David’s home. We continued on with the cleaning, putting away, assembling, searching for the lost bunk bed hardware while we chased Dave out to a quiet place for study. Early evening we joined him for a dinner at a local ice cream parlor. Then while we went back to camp to rest our weary bones he had another opportunity to study this evening.
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
