It’s Not Deck Day, but…

Family

IMG_6938Generally we make Pulled Pork only for Deck Day, but several factors conspired to make us want to make up a batch. First of all was the availability of a locally raised Boston Butt at Bryson’s this week. And the fact that we have friends coming over on Sunday. Then there was this super cold snap. A little Jimmy Buffett on the stereo and some pork slow cooking in the oven and we can almost imagine summertime even as we wear our long underwear inside the house. Visions of barbecue dancing in our heads! Yum!

Underground at Charing Cross

Underground at Charing Cross

Our last day in London this trip we ventured underground on the Hidden London Charing Cross: Access All Areas Tour for a peek into the workings of The Underground a bit of its history and the uses of the Jubilee Line Charing Cross Station that no longer serves passengers but still has usefulness including as a filming location for movies including Skyfall and Paddington.

Simply Stonehenge

Simply Stonehenge

A half-day bus tour from London to Stonehenge gave us enough of an opportunity to gaze in awe at this ancient sacred monument, learn a little more about its history and construction and make us want to return for perhaps a more intimate experience.
