Gray Monday

Road Trip

We got home yesterday on a wonderfully warm Sunday afternoon. After unloading most of our gear from the camper and getting the house opened up and the water system back in operation, we had a simple dinner and an early bedtime. By morning the weather was chilly and rainy. We made a rather long things to do list and headed out to run errands and restock the pantry. It’s good to be home but it’s a stark contrast to our recent month in the sun.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
