Deck is Done

Family

This week’s project has been The Deck. Monday morning we cleared it of all furniture, rugs, and potted plants then cleaned it with chlorine bleach and deck cleaner. Tuesday we let it dry. Tuesday evening we started staining it. All told it took four days, two quarts of cleaner, one gallon of bleach, two and a half gallons of stain, one and a half gallons of clear coat, a roller with a long handle, a brush, two dedicated workers who slept well each night and are ready to do it again. Thank heavens for four sunny days. Now it can rain on Friday if it wants. But the deck is beautiful again and happily anticipating hosting it’s annual event the end of this month.

We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.

Wicked The Musical

In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
