Among the things that the ranger at the visitor’s center at Wichita Mountain National Wildlife Refuge recommended we check out was the Meersburger, crafted from high quality local beef, and the Peach Cobbler with homemade vanilla ice cream at this unique local restaurant located in a more than a hundred year old mine building that represents the history of this community, once a gold mining town of five hundred but now a family of six dedicated to keeping the history as well as feeding all comers. Yum!
