Where the buffalo roam…where the elk and the longhorn play…
Yesterday afternoon we saw mountains emerging on the horizon beyond the vast Oklahoma grasslands. It’s an amazing place. Set aside as a wildlife refuge in 1901 after the great buffalo hunts that all but completely wiped out the American Bison. Today this park is a home to reintroduced bison, elk, and Texas longhorns. There’s grasslands, mountains, rivers, and lakes created by CCC dams, woodlands, raccoons, deer, collared lizards, prairie dogs, and much, much more. It’s hard to leave it so soon.

Can’t wait to return and explore more.

Slow Journey Home

Our journey from Portsmouth, England to our home in Ohio might have been accomplished in about sixteen hours but my avoiding air travel we were able to enjoy a fifteen day journey home via train, ship, Uber, train, as well as our own feet and finally our personal vehicle.

Big Repair, and finally the Mary Rose. All were incredibly informative and well presented.
