Just off The Avenue of Giants is Founder’s Grove with a nice interpreted nature trail and a docent. This place is dedicated to the men who fought to save the remaining ancient Redwoods beginning in the early part of the twentieth century. Only a very small percentage of the great redwood forests still remain but they do remain because of vocal proponents who fought to keep these magnificent trees standing.
Cuyahoga Valley National Park
Over a long weekend we sampled some of the myriad things to do in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, unique among national parks for it’s environmental reclamation, historic preservation, and recreational opportunities adjacent to the populous cities of Cleveland and Akron in northeastern Ohio. Can’t wait to return and explore more.
