Why We Came to Wisconsin

2014 West then East, Road Trip, States, Wisconsin

Once upon a time two and a half years ago we met a gaggle of dancers from Madison WI in the cruise terminal in Tampa as we were preparing to embark on the Norwegian Star for the annual Savoy at Sea swing dance cruise. We all had a fabulous week together and repeated the experience the following two winters. As we thought about where we wanted to visit on this trip, one consistent part of the plans has been to meet our friends and go dancing with them in Madison WI. After breakfast with Karen, Nancy came by to adopt us for the day. We’ll get to see Jim and Mary and perhaps more of the gang by day’s end!

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
