A Visit with “The Girls”

2014 West then East, Road Trip

Or friends Mary and Jim invited us to visit their Prairie Edge Farm. A few years ago they purchased an old house on a piece of property that was once a farm owned by the Olsen family. They restored the name of the farm and are lovingly restoring the house. We got a tour of the grounds and the garden as well as a chance to meet their hens, The Girls, and their two roosters. It was a wonderful visit and a delicious quiche prepared from gifts given by The Girls!

Burgh House Hampstead

Burgh House Hampstead

Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
