We spent some time today exploring the US-64 corridor here in the Piedmont between Asheboro and Chapel Hill. Did a little bit of shopping for things to enhance our rambling lifestyle including a little more camp furniture and extra lighting for the 10×10 canopy we’ve put up over the kitchen area. And we snagged just one geocache. Back in camp we enjoyed a repast of salad, brats, and mashed potatoes. Now we’re just sitting and reading and enjoying the moderate temperature on this September evening here in the North Carolina Piedmont.
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
