To give Lou and Bill a taste of life in WNC, we did a waterfalls day. Of course we started the day with coffee on the deck but from there we headed out for a day of exploration. Up to Cashiers and east into Transylvania County then south to Whitewater Falls with a cache along the way. Then south to just over the border into South Carolina and a cache before heading to the Carolina Smokehouse and some delicious pulled pork. From there on to Bridal Veil Falls, Dry Falls, Quarry Falls, and Katie’s Falls with a few more caches along the way. We were back at home and enjoying a light repast and wine by sunset. It’s so much fun sharing the delights of the mountains with others.
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
Nice stuff…hope to get to some of the same places.
