Our route south on I-81 took us through a corner of West Virginia. We often travel a longer stretch of the West Virginia Turnpike on our way to and from northeastern Ohio. We usually lose cell service on the turnpike but with the very mountainous terrain it is understandable. Today we noticed that we list cell signal just before we crossed from MD to WV and didn’t regain it until we were within a mile of the VA border. We’d wanted a geocaching break but didn’t have the technological support. Drat!
Burgh House Hampstead
Off the beaten path is Hampstead is the more than three hundred year old Burgh House with a fascinating history. It’s now a community center, local museum, gallery, concert venue, event space, and more open to the public four days a week. We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.
