Hanging Out in Canton

Family

We’ve been hanging out in Canton for a week while our replacement camper is being manufactured at a location about forty-five minutes south of here. We’ve made a series of home cooked dinners for Dave and company including a pork chops dinner requested by Riley. We introduced Riley to her grandmother’s sewing machine and gave her some basic sewing machine instruction. We read lots of Shel Silverstein poetry and played iPad games with Peyton. We ventured out with the granddaughters to a Barnes & Noble in Akron. Got in some good visits with Amy and enjoyed weekday breakfasts with Dave. We took some long rambling walks around the neighborhood, visited The First Ladies National Historic Site, found a series of geocaches, and spent many hours enjoying a series of ebooks and cuddling Dave’s cats. Yesterday we were met with the news that our camper may not be ready until early next week but a few minutes ago we learned we can pick it up today! Time to get into gear. finish our packing, and head to Sugarcreek!

We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.

In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
