Mere Remnants

It’s been a great Christmas week here at Tween Creeks! Gary arrived on Sunday and since then we have ventured out little. Mostly we have stayed here at the house, feasted on home cooked meals, chatted long-distance with our kids, watched Christmas movies, and just enjoyed one another’s company. We’ve also enjoyed several Christmas concerts on Qello. Gary particularly enjoyed the Faith Hill Christmas Concert. We were all tickled by a rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas by the a cappella group Straight, No Chaser. Check it out here! The two of us participated in a beautiful Mass at Living Waters Reflection Center on Christmas morning. Then today we went into high gear getting ready to depart on a southbound trip early tomorrow. Besides packing, we had to de-Christmas the house. After all was packed up and stored away we found a few stragglers: 3 Santa statuettes, 2 Holiday towels, and a Christmas book on a coffee table. Oh, yes, and the Fraser Fir wreath from Bryson’s, but we intended to leave that hanging outdoors at least until we get home. Now to settle into a chair in the living room and raise a toast to a delightful Christmas visit!

We popped over for a bite to eat and to peruse the galleries to learn a little more about Hampstead history.

Wicked The Musical

Wicked The Musical

Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.
