It seems that most of the commonly shared stories of the Civil War involve action east of the Mississippi but today we visited the site of the December 7, 1862 Battle of Prairie Grove. It’s a wonderfully preserved battlefield with a wealth of historic buildings. We enjoyed the film and museum before venturing out to investigate the grounds. It was cool to learn more about Arkansas during this era in history.
Imperial War Museum
London’s Imperial War Museum in Southwark founded even as the First World War raged offers insights into the myriad costs of the wars of the 20th and 21st Centuries. It was a most disquieting but valuable reminder of the myriad costs of war.
