Who Needs Paper Maps?

Road Trip

For the last several years the two of us have been relying on GPS technology to guide us in our travels. We used a maps program on our Mac iBook beginning in ’04 then switched to a Magellan around ’07, then began using GPS Drive on iPhone in January ’12. We love so many aspects of the navigational apps on our phones. We don’t have to keep track of a stack of paper maps for a cross country drive, the GPS does a better job of telling us where we really are, and has greatly reduced the tension involved in negotiation. That is until it’s time to map a route without cell service. This morning we’re grateful the phone can tell us where we are and that we have a google route printout to tell us where to go!

Wicked The Musical
