When we left Land O Lakes and Northwoods Tire we decided to head west to explore a bit of northern Wisconsin and then some of the Mississippi River. We also needed to find a overnight spot with laundry facilities. We ended up at the KOA north of Hayward WI. The property looks as if it was a pulpwood tree farm before being converted into a destination campground and water park. It must be a really busy place in the summer and perhaps also during snowmobile season but it’s quiet right now. And peaceful! It was a fine place to weather an overnight rainstorm.

Imperial War Museum

Imperial War Museum

London’s Imperial War Museum in Southwark founded even as the First World War raged offers insights into the myriad costs of the wars of the 20th and 21st Centuries. It was a most disquieting but valuable reminder of the myriad costs of war.

London’s Canals

This stay in London has given us new opportunities to explore and learn more about how canals contributed to the growth of this great city and how they are being used and preserved today.

National Portrait Gallery

National Portrait Gallery

It was a most educational visit to the newly renovated National Portrait Gallery at Trafalgar Square in Central London. We were intrigued with the contemporary approach to presenting British History.
