We arrived at Muskallonge Lake State Park early enough this afternoon to enjoy the last couple hours of the Eighth Annual Muskallonge Rock Show featuring Lake Superior agates. We browsed our way through several booths, talked with interesting people, became owners of a slice of agate suitable as a pendant and a hunk of copper ore from the area of the Baltic Mine in Houghton County. And we ran into friends Kathy & John who were our neighbors for three nights at Tahquamenon Rivermouth! We’d stumbled upon this rock show event three years ago. Coming back this time wasn’t exactly planned. We wanted to come back to the park because it’s a wonderful place to walk a ways on the Superior shore and that’s what we did later in the afternoon. It’s been a gloriously sunny day and strolling the rock strewn lakeshore seeing if we could spot any agates is a fabulous way to spend a sunny Sunday in September!
