It seemed time to move on. We’ve enjoyed our stay at McLain State Park and have only begun to explore the treasures of the Keweenaw so we’re looking forward to our next opportunity to visit here. Now we are staying at Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park in the western U.P. and still on the Superior shore. The Union Bay Campground is located approximately where there was a small isolated copper mining community in the 1840’s. We’ve enjoyed a slower pace this afternoon. Stayed home and fired up the charcoal grill for steak and potatoes!

We are the ones with the new “dresser” in our T@B, from Tearstock. If you are coming back through Michigan via the lower peninsula, you may want to stop at the restaurant “Leggs Inn” It’s in the city of (kind of near Petoskey) Cross Village. There is a road M-119 that runs from Harbor springs to Cross Village called the “Tunnel of Trees” It’s very scenic. Leggs Inn is a very cool woodsy polish restaurant. We lived in Michigan for 50 years and it’s been fun watching your travels to places we’ve been before. Thanks for the memories.

Hi, Charlie & Shelly! We’ve been thinking about you guys and talking about your custom mod as we’ve been giving tours of our T@B. Thanks for the recommendation! It may be a while before we make it to the Petosky area, we’ll make an effort to visit Legs Inn. We have it as a Bookmark on our Yelp app!

Wicked The Musical

Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
