‘Twas a totally gorgeous day on Rough River Lake. We enjoyed sitting in our chairs watching the light play on the water, boaters heading out for a day of fishing or other fun, and kayakers paddling by. Later in the afternoon we headed in the direction of Owensboro to a Cheddar’s on the outskirts of town where we rendezvoused with Chuck, Steve’s friend from SPHS. It was an enjoyable evening of reminiscing about adventures together many years ago and of comparing notes on the joys of retirement and grandbabies! We love being able to stay in touch with friends via the internet but it is so much more satisfying to visit in person and to share a meal! Life is good!

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
