Our Titusville Home

Florida, Road Trip, States

In the spirit of “home is where we park it”, we are home. We have the basics: food, clothing, and shelter and a nearby Publix for replenishing the food supply and a laundry room in the park for keeping the clothing fresh. The awning gives us privacy and a pleasant place to sit outdoors. And we’ve got entertainment. Plenty to read on our phones, lots of movies on our hard drive, neighbors to visit, potentially dolphins and manatees to watch and long walks to take. This quiet time is just what we need!

First, my condolences on the passing of your loved one. Second, sounds like this adventure has been a little overly adventurous. Hope the road ahead is smoother. Third, this delay gives you the opportunity to witness another space vehicle launch if you so desire.
    When: February 24, 2016 6:46 pm
Where: Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Space Launch Complex 40
Rocket Launch: SpaceX Falcon 9 SES 9
Safe travels when you get back on the road again.

Thanks for the expression of sympathy. Yes, we’ve had a few unplanned adventures this trip, but although adventures don’t always go as planned, we’ve also benefited from some of the glitches. And yes, one of the benefits might just be witnessing the launch of Falcon 9, if it indeed launches on the 24th. We expect to get a good view since this park is just across the Indian River from Cape Kennedy!

Wicked The Musical

Wicked The Musical

Ever since its debut on Broadway the two of us have wanted to see “Wicked the Musical”. Today we realized that dream. In the Apollo Victoria Theater in London’s West End we were witness to the incredible prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the story of the Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens

London’s National Portrait Gallery’s temporary exhibition, “Six Lives: The Stories of Henry VIII’s Queens” presents an amazing collection of portraits, jewelry, personal effects, books, costumes, and more to illustrate not only the lives of the six women who married the second Tudor king, but the effort across five centuries to keep their memory alive.

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

Caligula at Strawberry Hill

The purpose of our trek to Strawberry Hill House in Twickenham in the southwest of London was to see a recently recovered bronze bust of the Emperor Caligula but we discovered so much more in the recently restored 18th Century “little Gothic castle” built by Horace Walpole.
