CRS-8 Dragon Mission

Family

By the time we tuned into the live SpaceX webcast, liftoff had occurred about three minutes earlier but we were in time to witness first stage reentry and the first ever successful upright landing of a first stage rocket on an unmanned barge in the Atlantic Ocean. The space capsule, Dragon,is now enroute to the International Space Station with supplies  including growing media for the crew to grow Chinese Cabbage, science experiments including some live mice, and an expandable habitat module that will attach to the space station for two years. Dragon is scheduled to be berthed to the ISS Sunday morning. We’re considering getting up early to watch the live webcast! Watching last month’s launch live has rekindled our excitement about space exploration!

Cozumel & Grand Cayman

Cozumel & Grand Cayman

Aboard the Norwegian Jewel we’ve made stops in Cozumel, Mexico and Georgetown, Grand Cayman to explore beyond our previous experiences here. Soon we’ll be making our way to ports we’ve not yet explored in the Southern Caribbean.

Winter Magic in Medina

Winter Magic in Medina

By deliberate choice we were in Medina for all the winter holiday festivities from Candlelight Walk in the days before Thanksgiving through A Christmas Carol and A Celtic Christmas as well as an Alex Bevan Concert and a historic house tour all the way through Medina’s 31st Ice Festival but perhaps the highlight was the town hosting hundreds of folks whose homes and lives were devasted by Hurricane Helene at the A Promise of Christmas Event the middle of January. It’s an honor to be a part of this amazing community!
